The USW/U.S. Steel-Mon Valley Works Career Development Program (Mon Valley ICD) and USW Local 1219 recently teamed up for a unique Community Project.
"Benches for Braddock" saw Steelworker participants take repurposed materials from 10 demolished area homes and create 10 benches that were installed at Braddock area bus stops.
The project spanned two eight-hour carpentry/masonry classes on July 2 and July 9. It was open to Steelworker participants and community volunteers and even received local news coverage.
